We are quickly approaching the one year anniversary of the Shelby v. Holder decision, which struck down a key provision of the Voting Rights Act. A group of bipartisan lawmakers have introduced the Voting Rights Amendment Act (VRAA) that restores the Act's full protections–unfortunately that legislation has stalled in the House of Representatives.

This morning, I received two separate emails with links to news stories about labor unions. The stark contrast between the two articles shocked me. It got me thinking as to how members of labor unions: our first responders, teachers, nurses, caregivers, manufacturers, social workers, building and trades workers, bus drivers, retail workers, public servants.
